Blankets & Wine is celebrating its 16th anniversary with a major milestone — its first international edition, set to take place in Bradford City, UK. For over a decade, the festival has grown into a leading Pan-African cultural event, known for its vibrant mix of music, food, fashion, art, and community.
The UK show is scheduled for September 6, 2025, at Lister Park, delivered in partnership with the British Council under the UK/Kenya Season 2025. This expansion marks a new chapter for the festival, which began in 2008 with a mission to spotlight African talent and build a strong creative community.
Founder Muthoni The Drummer Queen called the move a dream realized, emphasizing the festival’s role in sharing African culture globally and creating opportunities across the live music scene.
The Bradford edition will feature a specially curated lineup of African artists, with the names set to be revealed at the end of June 2025. Organizers say the event will celebrate African music while strengthening cultural connections. Further details will be announced soon.
