Pamela Sittoni has been appointed Public Editor at Nation Media Group (NMG), months after leaving the company. The announcement, dated May 15, 2025, confirmed her role effective May 1, 2025, succeeding Peter Mwaura, who retired in December 2024.
In her new position, Sittoni will act as a link between NMG and the public, handling complaints about accuracy, fairness, and ethics across the group’s newspapers, digital platforms, and broadcast stations. She will also monitor compliance with editorial guidelines and Kenya’s Code of Conduct for Journalists, while educating the public on how news is produced.
Sittoni previously served as Group Managing Editor at NMG until June 30, 2024, and made history as the first woman to hold the Executive Editor and Managing Editor roles at the Daily Nation. Her career spans leadership positions at NMG, Standard Media Group, and UNICEF, supported by a master’s degree in New Media, Democracy, and Governance from the University of Leicester, a BA in Anthropology and Literature, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication from the University of Nairobi.
