Musician Kevin Bahati has once again found himself at the center of a viral online discussion after a 69-year-old man claimed to be his biological father, pleading for a chance to meet him. In a video that quickly circulated online, the man said he had taken Bahati to a children’s home years ago because he and Bahati’s mother could not provide for him at the time.
“Bahati, I’m asking you to forgive me. I took you to a children’s home because I knew I couldn’t raise you. I feared you wouldn’t survive if I abandoned you,” he said emotionally. He added that he has spoken to a pastor to help track Bahati down and referenced Judith Makokha, the woman who recently claimed to be Bahati’s mother, believing she may also be searching for him.
The man insisted he is willing to undergo a DNA test to prove his claim, saying all he wants is forgiveness.
Bahati responded with a mix of humour and frustration, sharing the video on social media with the caption: “Enough with the jokes, let my parents rest in peace 😂😂😂” His reaction sparked further debate online, with Kenyans weighing in—some calling for DNA tests, others joking about the situation.
This latest claim follows a previous viral video from a woman asserting she is Bahati’s biological mother. She said she had given him up due to poverty and had been trying to locate him. Bahati, however, publicly refuted her claim, stating, “My mum died over 25 years ago. I attended the burial and saw the grave myself 💔💔💔 This woman has confused me even more.”
With two separate individuals stepping forward, the saga has ignited discussions around family, identity, and whether the claims are genuine or attempts at clout. Both claimants have expressed willingness to undergo DNA testing, leaving Bahati and fans waiting for clarity.
